I recall noticing the different DCR on my diaphragm compared to London and Birm Status: Buy a pair of blown or , thread off the adaptor, remove the rubber tire, remove the cast back cover with the push-button terminals. How different are the and , and should a generic aftermarket replacement fit both?

D8R diaphragms use aluminum voice coil wire.

It fits perfectly,so i don’t worry about. Possibly an aftermarket diaphragm was installed. Would also prevent the woofer and cabinet from modulating the diaphragm like it was doing in your case. Too bad the won’t fit any of the older structures. Now as for jbll out the internals, I’ll save that question for next week!

I suppose that the LF driver could pressure up the cabinet high enough and long enough at very low frequencies to modulate the HF diaphragm through that vent hole. Does anybody know the specs of this driver I cant find it on the JBL pro web site other than that its used in load of there cabs I have a pair of these 16ohm drivers and need another two for some identical cabs.

Some of the veterans here ID’d them as drivers with H diaphragms installed. A bit less top end than the later drivers with slit phase plug. The Brochure posted ibl jblpro.
The Mylar surrounding looks like a simple plastic disc with eight holes in it. As the pair of these are wired in parrallel on my latest test project I want to make sure I have it right I have only seen pictures or heard about the H phase plug with the holes. JBL 2416 / 2418 diaphragms
Automotive, Live and Home Custom Design. We noticed this before,because the Horn produced a “farting” sound by playing Bass-Sinus signals. When I mounted the bad diaphragm to the H and pushed on it, the space between the diaphragm and phase plug was MUCH greater, perhaps times as much as on the definitely not right.

Buy a pair of blown orthread off the adaptor, remove the rubber 2146, remove the cast back cover with the push-button terminals.
I’ve done my own tests on the JBL “Chinese” aftermarket diaphragms, The curve and distortion end up all over the place.
JBL made a H with that phase plug.
